• This competition (hereinafter referred to as the "Image Competition") is organized by Leica Mikrosysteme GmbH (Hernelser Hauptstra ß e 219, 1170 Vienna (Austria), hereinafter referred to as the "organizer". The image competition started on February 15, 2021 and ended on June 30, 2021 (i.e. the "competition period"). If the competition cannot be held as expected, the organizer reserves the right to cancel, adjust or replace the image competition (including adjusting prizes) at any time.
• Participants do not need to pay any fees, and not purchasing products from the organizer, its subsidiaries, or its parent company does not affect their eligibility to participate. Given that the image competition aims to showcase how participants can use Leica high vacuum coating machines, participants must possess or be able to use the equipment to participate. The organizer may cancel the eligibility of participants for legitimate reasons, such as violating the Terms and Conditions or making incorrect or misleading statements about participating in the competition.
• Each participant can submit a maximum of three works during the competition period, and works submitted through unofficial channels will not be accepted.
• All participants must comply with the "Terms and Conditions", and the organizer has the right to modify the "Terms and Conditions". All modified content will be published on the organizer's website. The terms and conditions shall comply with Austrian law.
• The organizer will appoint a committee to determine the ultimate winner of the prize. The committee members will make decisions based on the uniqueness of the work, the aesthetic appeal of the image, and the quality of the coating technology. The appointment of the committee and the decision of the organizer are crucial for the participants and are the final evaluation criteria. Private communication is not allowed.
• The winning contestants will receive an award notification email or other contact information provided within six weeks after the end of the competition.
• The prizes are vouchers worth $500, $800, and $1500 respectively (hereinafter referred to as "vouchers"). Vouchers can be used to purchase consumables such as sputtering targets, sample tables, and other repair parts.
• The voucher will expire in two years.
• If participants still have any questions about the use of the voucher, please contact the organizer or local Leica Microsystems sales or customer service personnel.
• This voucher cannot be repurchased in the form of providing services to the enterprise or other fields, nor can it offset the price of purchasing instruments.
• The submitted images must be manufactured or captured using Leica high vacuum coating equipment, and unauthorized third-party materials must not be used. Copyright infringement, trademark theft, infringement of personal rights, privacy rights (or public rights), or intellectual property rights of any person or business entity are prohibited. Images must not contain any personally identifiable information. The submission of an image by a participant means that the image complies with this clause.
• To ensure that the image can be used normally and without distortion, it is necessary to use. JPEG Submit images in JPG,. png,. tif, or original format.
• Participating in this competition means that the participant grants the organizer, Leica Microsystems, and all its subsidiaries a non exclusive, royalty free, irrevocable, global, unrestricted license for commercial and non-commercial use. Including but not limited to the organizer posting the names of participants on social media, websites, and other places, and publishing the image.
• Participating in the competition also means that participants allow the organizer to edit, adjust, or compare the submitted images with others' works.
• The organizer collects and reviews personal information of participants related to this image competition, and shares this information with the organizer's agents and subsidiaries (including those outside the European Economic Area). The personal information provided by participants is only used for the purpose of achieving this competition or other purposes explicitly listed in the Terms and Conditions.
